BACK IN 2013, Vogue shot a beautiful editorial in Kerry, and this year, the county is again getting a big fashionable thumbs up from US brand J Crew.

The brand has just released its December style guide, which was shot in west Kerry in August.

The trip was showcased on the brand blog, where they revealed they cast some members of the local GAA team for the shoot, and struggled with the standard Irish ‘summer’:

The weather was wild, it was like 10 seasons in a day. It would be sprinkling rain, then suddenly cold and sunny. The locals would joke, “Oh, spring’s coming… Oh, here comes fall…”

The art director of the shoot marvelled at the green landscape above, saying it was “like a movie set”. Yup, our own natural film set.

And no one seemed to understand the prevalence of sheep in Ireland. The blog contains a line explaining to US readers why farmers dye their herds’ wool, and also expresses amazement that they were “literally just walking down the middle of the road”.

What can we say? We’ve got a lot of sheep.
